Hyacinth Absolute is a rich, deeply floral extract taken from the flowers of Hyacinthus orientalis — the same fragrant spring bulb many people grow in their own gardens. It’s a lovely way to explore what a true floral absolute smells like, without the price tag of the rarest perfumery materials.

Scent Profile

Sweet, green, and intensely floral — close to the scent of a fresh bunch of hyacinths in a vase, with a slightly spicy warmth underneath. A little goes a long way.

How to Use It

This is a great introductory absolute if you’re new to working with concentrated florals. It’s popular with soap makers, natural perfumers, and anyone experimenting with solid perfumes, roll-ons, or scented oils.

A quick note for candle makers: absolutes like this one aren’t formulated the same way as fragrance oils, and high heat can dull some of their more delicate notes — so they tend to work better in cold-process applications (soap, lotion, perfume oils, room sprays) than in poured, heated candle wax. If you do want to experiment with it in a candle, we’d suggest testing a small batch first to see how it holds up.
