This rare Amber Resin Oil is extracted from the fossilised sap of the giant prehistoric conifer pines of Pinus Succinefera which are found in the Northern Himalayan mountain ranges in India. The oil is extracted using the process of dry distillation in which amber resins are melted over a high heat of about 350 Celsius without oxygen. This then yields a dark thick oil which has a unique smoky, resinous and woody aroma. Amber Resin contains terpenes and other hydrocarbons that were characteristic of Pinus Succinifera so making the Amber Resin Oil similar in its composition and properties to essential oils obtained from present day living plants.
Amber oil can be used as an ingredient in cosmetic and skin care formulations. In perfumery, Fossilized Amber Oil provides unique and interesting subtle differences in natural perfumes making it a must have for the natural perfumer.
Pure Absolute Oils or Essential Oils should always be diluted with a carrier oil such as grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil before using on the skin. A patch test is recommended to see if your skin is sensitive to the product.
