Organically wild crafted Douglas Fir Essential Oil is steam distilled from the deep green needles and twigs of the Pseudotsuga menziesii evergreen growing wild in the vast forests of Canada and the USA. The essential oil has a very intense yet soft coniferous aroma with a vibrant and robust character.
There are around 50 different species of Douglas Firs that thrive throughout the Northern Hemisphere. Towering in heights as great as 320 feet and 17 feet across they are second in size only to the North American Sequoia or Giant Redwood Tree The wood from these magnificent trees is used for lots of different things including telephone poles, railway sleepers, furniture and home building.
Pure Absolute Oils or Essential Oils should always be diluted with a carrier oil such as grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil before using on the skin. A patch test is recommended to see if your skin is sensitive to the product. With a dilution it is not necessary to dilute the oil as it is already diluted and can be used straight on the skin although a patch test is still recommended.
