Organic Melissa Essential Oil – Botanical Name Melissa officinalis
(also know as Lemon Balm)
Origin – Bulgaria
Part Used – The Leaves and flowering tops
USDA Certified as Organic

Extraction Method – Steam Distilled
Appearance – Pale yellow to golden coloured liquid
Solubility – Soluble in fixed oils, Insoluble in water
Scent- Lovely fresh and lemony with a herbaceous-floral aroma and hints of honey
Main Uses – Perfumery and creating your own blends. Cosmetic use

In this listing you have the choice of a pure essential oil or a dilution in Grapeseed and Vitamin E Oil. The pure essential oil is more expensive.

Growing Conditions – USDA Certified as organic and grown on unpolluted sustainable land.

Also known as Lemon Balm, Melissa oil is expensive to produce and so is often adulterated with much cheaper oils such as Lemongrass and Citronella.

Pure Absolute Oils or Essential Oils should always be diluted with a carrier oil such as grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil before using on the skin. A patch test is recommended to see if your skin is sensitive to the product. With a dilution it is not necessary to dilute the oil as it is already diluted and can be used straight on the skin although a patch test is still recommended.
