Myrrh Essential Oil is gently steam distilled from the wildcrafted resin of the small and thorny Commiphora myrrha trees growing in arid areas of Somalia, East Africa. Myrrh Oil has a scent which is warm and earthy. It is a rich deep aroma and because of its excellent fixative properties it can be used in natural perfume blends. Myrrh oil has a very long history for use and was an ingredient of the famous Egyptian perfume kyphi, and also an important ingredient in embalming in ancient Egypt.
Pure Absolute Oils or Essential Oils should always be diluted with a carrier oil such as grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil before using on the skin. A patch test is recommended to see if your skin is sensitive to the product. With a dilution it is not necessary to dilute the oil as it is already diluted and can be used straight on the skin although a patch test is still recommended.
