Bourgeons Cassis absolute is cultivated in Burgundy from Blackcurrant. Long prized for its culinary delights, the blackcurrant bud finally caught the eye of perfumers in the 1960s. They began incorporating it into the top notes of their fragrances to impart a zesty green facet that is highly sought after. Today, Bourgeons de Cassis is one of the few natural fruity notes in the perfumer’s palette. The extraction process is by traditional solvent extraction of the blackcurrant buds and is here presented @ 10% in DPG which turns a hard to work with semi-solid material in to a pourable liquid product available at a very affordable price.

Blackcurrant Buds are used in the highest quality perfumery to lend a green fruity facet to a composition. It is primarily found in fruity, citrus, and oriental accords where it brings a certain freshness, but also in floral and woody arrangements where it enhances the other notes.
