Boronia Perfumers Base — A Masterful Reconstruction of a Legendary Floral

Genuine Boronia megastigma absolute commands eye-watering prices and extremely limited availability — Australian boronia’s brief flowering window and low yield make it one of natural perfumery’s rarest and most expensive florals, historically a key component of Diorissimo by Edmond Roudnitska. This masterfully crafted base, created in Grasse specifically to recreate boronia’s complex, ionone-rich character, offers perfumers access to that same profound floral beauty at a considerably more accessible price point.

As the pure base is highly concentrated, we supply it at 10% in natural triethyl citrate (TEC) — an odourless, citrus-derived carrier that gives a genuinely workable, pourable material. Please note this material may be unfiltered in the traditional manner, which can result in slight clouding or fine particles — entirely characteristic and not a defect.

Scent Profile

Rich, ionone-forward, and profoundly floral — boronia shares its ionone-rich character with only a handful of other flowers, including violet, mimosa, and cassie. This base recreates that unmistakable complexity with luxurious depth, offering the same enchanting floral beauty that made genuine boronia absolute so prized by classical perfumers.
