The Iml sample is supplied in a clear Flint Glass bottle with metal screw cap and is ideal for testing the contents prior to buying the larger sizes.
The 5ml and 10ml bottle sizes are in Amber or clear Flint Glass bottles with tamper evident cap. Please note if buying large quantities of this item we advise purchasing a 1ml sample first to ensure that you are happy with the product as we do not refund opened items
Oakmoss Absolute Oil
Botanical Name – Evernia prunastri
Origin – Southern Asia
Part Used – Lichen
Extraction Method – It is extracted from the lichen first by solvent extraction and then vacuum distillation.
Appearance – Greenish brown to dark brown coloured, slightly viscous liquid but pourable
Scent- A strong scent of moist moss and lichen
Main Uses – Natural Perfumery and for creating your own blends. Cosmetic use in creams and lotions
Note – Base Note (Excellent Fixative)
Oak moss is a light green lichen that is found growing on oak trees (though sometimes on other species as well such as Pines and Firs). The essential oil of oakmoss is used in perfumery as a fixative.
Blends well with: Anise, Bay, Bergamot, Clary Sage, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Geranium, Ginger, Lavender, Lime, Neroli, Orange, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Tea Tree, Vetiver and Ylang Ylang.
Pure Absolute Oils or Essential Oils should always be diluted with a carrier oil such as grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil before using on the skin. A patch test is recommended to see if your skin is sensitive to the product.
