Guatemalan Green Cardamom Absolute — Opulent Spice for the Artisan Perfumer

This sumptuous absolute is produced by Payan Bertrand — one of France’s most distinguished natural ingredient houses, with roots stretching back to 1854 — from green cardamom pods cultivated in Guatemala, delivering an exceptionally concentrated and enduring aromatic profile. It shares the characteristic warmth of the essential oil yet possesses far greater intensity and depth. Notably, despite being an absolute, it exhibits a remarkably vivid top note presence with a discernible ginger facet, rendering it invaluable from the opening to the dry-down — whether employed as a substitute for or an enhancer alongside the essential oil.

As the pure absolute is exceptionally concentrated, we supply it at 30% in natural triethyl citrate (TEC) — the same carrier used by the manufacturer’s own standard preparation of this material, chosen for its proven compatibility, ensuring a genuinely workable and stable material without compromising the authentic character of the original absolute.

Scent Profile

The olfactory character opens with a vibrant, fresh-spicy burst reminiscent of eucalyptus, gradually unfolding into a warm, resinous, and subtly woody heart touched with a delicate sweetness.
